私の好きなイギリスのテレビ番組の1つは、「マスター・シェフ」です。私には作れないような複雑で美しい料理を作っているのを観るのがとても楽しいです。マスターシェフの参加者はいつも創造的で、私が聞いたこともないような料理や、思いもしなかったアレンジを料理に加えています。
この番組を観るだけで、料理の技を盗み習うことができるような気がしますが、1つ残念なことは番組内でベジタリアン料理を作ることは本当に少なく、ヴィーガン料理を作ることがほぼないことです。私も含めイギリスには多くのヴィーガンがいるにもかかわらず、番組内でヴィーガン料理が作られることはほとんどないんです。
ヴィーガン料理はより創造性が必要なので、ヴィーガンにとってもヴィーガンではない人にとっても、ヴィーガン料理を作っているのところが見れたらより想像力を掻き立てるものになるのではないかなと、思うのにな。。。

One of my favourite British TV show is Master Chef. I think it is really fun to watch people cooking beautiful and comprecated dishes because I can't. The contestants were really creative and sometimes they cook dishes that I have never heard of or dishes they arrange in interesting ways which I never thought of.
I can learn some cooking skills by watching this program but one of the sad thing about this show is they don't cook many vegetarian dishes and hardly any vegan food. There are so many vegans in the U.K., including myself, but they don't cook vegan dishes on the show most of the time. I feel a bit left out and there must be many people who want to watch people cooking beautiful and tasty vegan dishes.
I think cooking vegan food needs more creativities so watching people cooking them must be so inspirational for both vegans and non vegan.

英語日記をネイティブに添削してもらって
英語日記を書いた後ネイティブに添削してもらい、私が間違えから学んだことです。
本当は自分の間違っている英語を公開するのも恥ずかしいのですが、「人は間違えから学ぶ」は本当だと思います。私の間違えが、少しでも人のためになることを祈って共有させてもらいます！
One of 複数形
中学校英語で習うことですが、one of ~ときたら～の部分は複数形でした。いくつか複数あるのかの1つと言っているので、必ず複数形ですね。実はこのポイント、英語で話していても、「あ、間違えた」と自分で気が付くことがあるくらい、私が忘れがちなことです。よく間違えるとわかっていても、間違えるとは。。。
Creativityは不可算名詞
ちょっと考えてみれば納得なのですが、Creativityは不可算名詞です。Creativitiesにはなりません。確かに創造性を数えろって言われても、どうやって数えればいいのか分からないですもんね。
自制の一致
ついつい私が忘れがちになってしまっている重要な文法、「自制の一致」です。

↑この部分、文のはじめがwereと過去形になっているので、文の後半も自制の一致が適応されてcookedになるのが正解です。
文章をシンプルに！
今回の英語日記だけでなく、英語日記を書く度に言われるのことは、
「もっとシンプルな文章で！」です。
ついついwhichなどを使って説明する文章を追加してしまい、1文が長くなりすぎてしまう傾向が、私はあるようです。私が今まで英語で文章を読んだり書いたりする時は、大学で論文を読んだり、課題でエッセイや卒論を書いたりすることがほとんどだったからかな、と思いました。
1つの文で言いたいことは1つまで、ということに気を付けてこれからは英語で文章を書いてみたいと思います。
今回のブログの最初に書いた文章は実は、英語日記を自分で日本語に訳してみたものです。1つの文の、あのこと・このことがごちゃ混ぜになっていて、自分でもわかりにくいな、、、と正直思いました。何語であろうとわかりにくいものは、わかりにくい。日本語でもわかりにくいなら、私の英語なら尚更わかりにくい。何語になってもわかりやすい文章を目指そうと思います。
